ABOUT US

Belrose Physie & Dance is a proud member of the Bjelke Peterson School of Physical Culture.

Physie is the perfect combination of movements designed to increase strength, fitness and flexibility. The benefits for your daughter are increased co-ordination, brain development and confidence. Physie is a synchronised, team-based sport that’s social and fun and an excellent low impact dance and aerobic activity.

Unlike some ballet and dance studios, BJP Physie focuses on developing the self-esteem of its students. By teaching them to have a positive relationship with their bodies, we help students blossom with confidence and self-assurance. BJP Physie is passionate about nurturing students’ total wellbeing, in both mind and body. Physie is an accepting and encouraging team sport, where every member is supported and motivated to be the best they can be.

We provide classes for girls from 3 years to adults. Our team of dedicated and inspirational teachers create a fun and supportive environment where they will help you learn at your own pace, whilst motivating you to achieve your goals both individually and within a team.

"I can't believe how far Lydia has come since she started at Belrose Physie! She was just 4 years old when we were looking for a dance class for her, and Physie was the perfect fit. We loved that the classes combine a mix of different dance styles while also focusing on strength, fitness, and flexibility. It's been amazing watching Lydia grow, not just as a dancer but as a resilient and strong young girl. What really stands out, though, is how supportive and kind the teachers are. They truly encourage every student to reach their potential, and Lydia has thrived because of that. It's also comforting to know that Physie is something she can continue throughout her teen years, and even come back to as an adult. We're so grateful for the Belrose Physie community!"

“I joined Belrose Physie in 2024, which was a return to physie for me after a break of 30+ years.  I was encouraged back to physie by some friends and after resisting for a little while I can honestly say – physie was one of my highlights of 2024!  Getting back into physie has been fantastic, it is a workout for both my body and my mind and the Belrose Physie tribe are so welcoming and supportive. Physie offers a chance to celebrate all the amazing things that happen when women and girls get together to support and cheer each other on.  It is just as much fun as I remembered it was when I was a child (just without the 80’s crimping iron now!)
For an hour or two investment a week it has given me a chance to learn something new, to look after my body and to build fabulous new friendships.  Physie has been the best form of self-care.
I am looking forward to doing it all again in 2025!  Come along and join the Belrose Physie family – you won’t regret it”

“Having done physie myself up into my early adult years, a back injury took me off the floor for over 30 years. Once I had a little girl of my own I knew I would get her into physie as soon as she was old enough. Gemma started competing for Belrose physie as a tiny 4 year old and has continued this for 11 years now. She loves her physie, the friends she makes, the strength, resilience, poise and agility she develops are lifelong. She is now loving her role as an assistant teacher to the little girls in the club, sharing her love and passion while teaching the next physie generation. I finally found the courage to get back into competing myself last year, having this sport to share with my girl is amazing. Belrose physie for life!”
